This hotel is a hidden gem nestled among the beautiful vineyards of the Charente region. With its superb views and tranquil setting, it's the perfect retreat for a romantic getaway or a relaxing family vacation. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with modern amenities such as 4 poster beds and 2 bathrooms. The attention to detail and warm hospitality of the staff make you feel right at home. The breakfast spread is delicious, with a variety of homemade breads, cakes, fruits, cereals, and cheese to fuel your day.
No aspects need improvement, everything was perfect.

The restoration of this original carriage house is excellent, and the suite concept accommodates travel with family or friends. Fortunately, the proprietor provides an gourmet cuisine service representative of the local foods, since there are few options for dining otherwise in the area.
The stone construction of the buildings is authentic and quaint, but hold a lot of moisture in the fall months, so the environment was uncomfortably damp. The location is very rural, though not far from Jarnac or Cognac - these are interesting towns, but most of the restaurants and shops were closed during the times when international travelers would visit.

Christinas home-cooked food, including fresh bread, is very special. The establishment was very clean, beautiful, and perfect for a stop-over. It is in a very beautiful rural location and the pool and sauna were well maintained.
Availability of food was an issue in what is a holiday destination. If you want to eat, ample notice needs to be given as the owner is also the cook. For instance, dont think that you can telephone ahead towards the end of a 1500km journey in the hope of geting food upon arrival. This attitude makes this luxury accomodation more bed and breakfast than hotel and detracted from an otherwise perfect visist. Be prepared to plan your meals well ahead, take your own food, or eat out. Also note well, that a lack of air conditioning or a ceiling fan could make this a hot stay!

The room was very charming with beautiful decorations and cozy atmosphere. the owners were welcoming and friendly. the breakfast was homemade and delicious. the pool area was nice for a quick swim.
The lack of air conditioning made it a bit uncomfortable during the hot summer nights.

I was really impressed with the remake of this old coaching Inn into a charming, but modern hotel. We were made very welcome by Christine who produced a wonderful home cooked dinner and breakfast. She was very informative and organised a tour of a local cognac distillery, which we really appreciated. We loved our brief stay.
It is quite isolated and although this didn't affect our stay it could present an issue with some people and therefore perhaps this should be mentioned in advertising, particularly that dining could be difficult.

The room was beautifully decorated with amazing hand carved locally sourced furniture. A good size with lovely bathroom. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Facilities were great too with nice swimming pool and reasonable gym. There was a sauna too although we didn't use it as the weather was so good! Some days it rained in Cognac, but blue skys over the hotel. We used the tennis court a lot. Rackets and balls provided, but for the best experience, best to take your own. We used the mountain bikes again provided free of charge, it is a very hilly in the area, but we managed fine and it was only cool enough to cycle one day when it rained. The views from the hotel are amazing, with the hotel being surrounded by fields of grape vines.
The breakfast was slightly over priced for a long stay, but if you consider almost everything on offer is made on site, it is a luxury. Ps also worth noting that I hadn't finished commenting on how good our stay was when I ran out of space! This hotel is one of the nicest I've stayed in overall. The hostess is very friendly and helpful and makes wonderful food. Can't recommend this place enough.

This hotel is a fantastic, tranquil haven nestled between forests and vineyards. The location is absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye can see. The rooms are beautifully appointed, with a 4 poster bed and modern facilities, including 2 bathrooms. The attention to detail is impeccable, and the English-speaking staff are incredibly attentive. The breakfast, with homemade croissants, jams, and other delicious treats, is a great start to the day.
All was perfect, no improvements needed.

We were attending a wedding at Belle Vue Pirac and the location was excellent. The dinner on the first night was excellent although my husband would have liked more wine! We had apperative 2 glasses of red wine and a digestive all local and probably not what we would have chosen but good all the less. The quality of Christines cooking was excellent all agin local produce and we were given a detailed history of the products and wher they came from. We tried to eat dinner on a second occasion but couldn't as we only enquired in the morning instead of giving 24 hours notice( we did wonder if she prepared the same meal as 2 Norwegian boys we got friendly with had the same meal on arrival) We loved the swimming pool and garden.
The taxis although very efficient were very expensive even by English standards, Also the last night we were at Le Relais it was very noisy with young children running through the corridors. We are grandparents and know what children are like so it wasn't the fault of Le Relais but inconsiderate parents. All in all we would recommend Le Relais and return

Located in the heart of the Charente region and surrounded by vineyards, the hotel offered breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. The renovated building was tastefully decorated and the rooms were comfortable. The outdoor facilities, such as the pool and play area, were well-maintained and enjoyable.
The hotel was slightly farther from the city than we expected, which made transport a bit of a hassle. there were limited options for dining in the area, though the hotel did offer a good meal.

The surroundings were breathtaking with endless views of the vineyards and little villages. the hosts were friendly and helpful, providing us with plenty of advice on local tourism. the homemade meals were delicious and the coffee was exceptional. the pool was a great way to cool off during the hot summer days.
The location is quite remote, so a car is definitely necessary to get around. There were limited activities available on-site, so it's better for those who prefer a more relaxing vacation rather than an action-packed one.

It was a bit of a drive from Angouleme (~40minutes of twisty roads), but worth it once there. The country side is beautiful, the Relais is rustic but impeccably maintained and comfortable. The staff are incredibly friendly (and fluent in English!), so eager to help in whatever way necessary. Overall a wonderful place. We would (and hopefully will) stay there again.

One of the most perfect hotel I have ever stayed in! The setting was wonderful, the rooms, the view on the grande champagne vineyards and the pool. The breakfast was really excellent and the dinner was almost out of this world. The lady of the house made us a magical local dinner which we enjoyed in the garden overlooking the vineyards. We will definately be back!
